  • Story

    It has been said that when the great Táng Dynasty (唐, 618 - 907) poet 李白 (Lǐ Bái) was young, he was a lazy student who rarely completed his work. One day, he was walking by a small brook when he happened upon a woman with steel rods. He asked her what she was doing.

    "I'm grinding these down into needles," she replied.

    李白 was struck by her tenacity and spirit, and so he went home and finished his studies.
