    《尚书》(Shàng Shū), generally known in English as the "Book of Historical Documents" or "Book of History." It is one of the five classics of ancient Chinese literature.

  • Story

    During the Shāng Dynasty (1600 - 1046 BC), the ruler 纣王 (Zhòu Wáng) was so exceptionally cruel and ferocious that neither the court officials nor the common people could handle the suffering any longer. Claiming that the heavens had indicated his crimes could go on no longer, they launched into a successful rebellion that brought down 纣王 and ended the entire Shāng Dynasty.
